Today I am sharing something a little different. I have been reconnecting my swaps lately and taking part in all types of art swaps, letter swaps and such. One of my most favorite things is to smash stuff onto paper with Mod Podge-I find it so therapeutic. The ability to create without worry, without trying to make anything, just allowing things to stick where they stick and be what they are. It’s such a great way to move into that energy of just being and playing and enjoying the act of creating.
One of the swaps I recently took part in was for a junk journal and it was so much fun! I love the one I received and I spent a few weeks tweaking and putting together the one I sent out to my partner. I really did fall in love with the journal and had a blast making it. I haven’t decided what I am going to do with the one I received but for now just flipping through the textile papers is enough to slow the breathing and bring about a sense of calm and peace.
Well, maybe that part is just me…
Before I sent off my little creation I took a mini video of it and thought it might be fun to share here with all of you. As you can tell I love little pockets so I included a bunch of them, plus can I just say how much fun it is to sew paper? Seriously-you need to try it.
I hope you find it inspiring and if you make your own please do comment below I would love to see them!
Until next time…
